KTU B.Tech · 2024 scheme · Semester 1

A tutor that stays on
your syllabus.

Every answer is anchored to one specific topic in the KTU scheme. Ask about recursion and you get the recursion your university actually examines — not a general answer that drifts somewhere unexamined.

This is what it sounds like

An exchange from Module 1 — variables and operators.

Student
why does 0.1 + 0.2 == 0.3 give False in python?
Tutor
Good catch — that surprises everyone the first time. Python stores floats in binary. One tenth in binary is a repeating fraction, the same way one third is 0.333… in decimal. It has to be cut off somewhere, so 0.1 is stored as something a whisker away from 0.1. Add two such numbers and the error adds up: >>> 0.1 + 0.2 0.30000000000000004 So the comparison is doing exactly what you asked — those two values really are different. Before I show you the fix: what do you think happens with 0.5 + 0.25 == 0.75? Try it, and see if you can say why it behaves differently.

Notice it ends with a question. That is deliberate — a student who is told the answer has not learned anything yet.

Why not just use ChatGPT?

You can, and for many things you should. The difference is scope. A general chatbot answers the question you asked; it has no idea which of the five modules you are being examined on, how deep KTU goes, or that your exam wants an algorithm in pseudocode rather than working Python.

Here, every conversation is tied to one published topic from the official scheme. The tutor is given that topic’s notes and told to teach at Plus-Two level and stay put. When you drift off-syllabus, it says so and points you back — which matters most in the week before an exam, when time spent on the wrong material is time you do not get back.

Four ways to work

01
Socratic tutor
Explains, works an example, then asks you something back. It will not simply hand over the answer.
02
Practice questions
Auto-graded, in the KTU pattern. Wrong answers feed a picture of which topics are still shaky.
03
Code playground
Python exercises where the feedback is about your approach, not just whether the tests went green.
04
Mock exams
Timed papers following the CIE and ESE structure.
